Microth Has Released Version 2.0 of InPad

Microth, Inc. has just released a version 2.0 of their InPad application.

InPad is language-independent, fully customizable, fast and accurate handwriting input method for mobile devices.

Version 2.0 adds a number of new features and improvements: simpler user interface, transparent mode, rectangular cells, build-in layout editor, enchanced symbol customization and demo.

Celebrating this event all customers of version 1.0 can upgrade to version 2.0 in December for free.

InPad is a combination of handwriting and keyboard input derived strong sides of both these techniques: a simple, familiar handwriting interface and an instant, accurate keyboard processing. InPad doesn't "recognize" handwritings - it just "inputs" handwritten symbols into a device like a regular keyboard.

Imagine a soft keypad having a few keys. Write a symbol over this keypad. Inpad will highlight and track a sequence of keys actuated during drawing this symbol. Each stroke of an entered symbol will be represented by a sequence of keys crossed by that stroke. Now we can assign symbols to some key sequences based on symbols' handwriting.

For example, symbol 'a' can be assigned to the key sequence {4,3,5,6,4,6}. All assigned key sequences and correspondent symbols are stored in a special dictionary - a layout of InPad. Now we just need find what symbol is assigned to traced sequences in a current layout. That's it. This is a very simple, accurate and fast handwriting input algorithm of InPad.

InPad can be easily adjusted to your own writing style and needs. InPad has different keypad configurations 2*2, 2*3, 3*3 depending on alphabet complexity. InPad's panel can be resized and dragged over the screen. It may be transparent. You can use you finger for input. Download and modify language layouts from www.inpad.net or create your own ones using InPad. InPad supports handwriting input in more then 100 world languages based on Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Kana scripts.

You can easily add new symbols to layouts, assign as many as needed different handwritings to a symbol, use multistroke symbols, accents and symbol modifications. Strokes can also be assigned to control symbols, commands and text strings. For example, it can be Windows 'Copy' and 'Paste' commands, frequent text strings like 'Best regards' or 'the' or even your favorite applications. InPad has imbedded demo functionality and at any moment you can check what handwriting is assigned to a symbol.

InPad takes less then 300K of memory. Average size of a layout is about 12K.
